What’s the best way to get from Heathrow Airport to London Liverpool Street Station with two huge luggage?

suit luggage
atinav77 asked:

I know I have a choice between the Heathrow Express and the Tube.

a) I can take the Heathrow Express to Paddington and switch to the Hammersmith Line.

Or

b) I can take the Piccadily Line to Holbourn and change to the Central Line.

But I want to take the option that allows me to avoid staircases. Any idea which option suits me the best?

None. Get a taxi from outside the terminal.

You can’t avoid stairs somewhere along the way.

Get a cab…which will NOT cost £100. Probably £25-£30 depending on time of day and traffic

the piccadilly/central line exchange at holborn is a lot easier than the heathrow express/hammersmith line at paddington – also the underground is a lot cheaper than the heathrow express.
if it was me i would take the piccadilly line to kings cross and then the metropolitan line to liverpool street, about 5 mins longer journey time but they have just finished development at kings cross and the interchange will be a lot easier for you and you will have lots of time and space without being hassled by the commuters. also lots of staff at kings cross (who may if asked very nicely, assist you).
    hope that helps.
ps for those suggesting a cab – the fare from heathrow – liverpool street will set you back close on £100!!!!

I agree with taking the Piccadilly Line past Holborn to King’s Cross (this part will take 60 minute). The Piccadilly Line runs special cars that are designed assuming people have luggage. There is more floor space.
    - Go to the stations where people have luggage.

Another option to get from King’s Cross to Liverpool is bus #205 which may be easier with luggage. If worse comes to worse, it’s about 2.5 miles from King’s Cross to Liverpool. It should be a much more affordable taxi.

If you require mobility assistance or with luggage, and you have not arranged for someone to meet you, you need to go to either the customer information point on the main station concourse or the information point within the suburban station (platforms 9-11) and ask for assistance. There are also help points on Platforms 2 – 8, adjacent to the Scribbler Shop on the main concourse.

You cannot avoid stairs, but you can minimise it. But not by any of your alternatives.

From Heathrow Airport follow the signs to Heathrow Airport station. There are no stairs to negotiate.

From Heathrow Airport station, take the first London-bound Picaddilly Line train. Alight at Hammersmith and cross to the other side of the platform and take the first District Line train. Alight at Sloane Square (a comparative quiet station) and from the same platform take a Circle Line train to Liverpool Street. (Do not worry if the train waits for a few minutes at Aldgate – this is normal).

At Liverpool Street, you have only a few stairs to climb.

Interchange at Holborn will involve a long walk and, if the escalators are not working, alot of stairs.
