I’m going on vacation! I usually over pack but with the rules about luggage, I know I can’t.. I might even pack everything in my carry-on! Could you give me some tips .. I know to wear comfortable clothes and flip flops for the airport. Maybe a couple sundresses and of couse bathing suit.

of course bathing suits, sun dresses, maybe wedge shoes to dress them up for a night out, flip flops, and maybe just one sweat shirt and a pair of jeans, just in case you hit bad weather one day… ps st.thomas is amazing i went there right after i got engaged i loved it!! i was in nothing put a bathing suit and jean skirt the whole time…
there isn’t much to do in St-Thomas.
Although you should consider taking a taxi and crossing to the other side of the island.. there is a beautiful beach called Magen’s Bay. One of the most beautiful beaches I have ever been to.
If you’re going shopping downtown, then put on comfortable clothes, flip flops, bring a water bottle because it can get really hot. Don’t forget sunglasses!
HAVE A GREAT VACATION!
You have the right idea… pack MINIMAL and buy what you need when you get there. I have traveled the world with a converted fiberglass tool case with a shoulder strap from a Sony Professional Beta-cam and can go for 6 to 8 MONTHS at a time with a case that can fit under ANY airline seat.
AmeriKans have all see the movies so they think they need 3 steamer trunks for 2 week vacation and they are such amateur travelers they PACK that way… which, as you seem to realize.. the don’t.
Seasoned world travelers use a single suitcase or backpack that NEVER weighs over 40 POUNDS… AmeriKans on the other hand use 3 or 4 suitcases which they have to PAY to have someone else handle.
Enjoy your MINIMALIST VACATION.
Sunscreen, your bathing suit and a cover up or two. Wear a little “hoodie” outfit on the plane and you can use that at night. Then just your little personal items and a beach book.
I am serious. Very casual. I betcha you can pack it all in a good sized carry on, too.
And whoever told you there isn’t much to do there is a killjoy. St. Thomas is gorgeous and a lot of fun. Here’s a little tip: Take the local buses, they only cost $1 and will take you all over the island. Just pretend you know what you are doing and hop on! Ask a local if you need help. They are so friendly.
Plus we own St. Thomas so you will see a lot of American over the counter meds and brands there. Take the ferry to St. John’s one day, FOR SURE. Plan on going snorkelling a lot. Amazing fish.
I am soooo jealous. I love St. Thomas!
Hey pirata,
Try answering just one question without insulting somebody!
And thanks so much for leaving America as we don’t want arrogant scum like yourself in our country.
Get a life, LOSER!!!!! And learn how to spell, dumba$$.
