SV asked:
I need to purchase a suitcase for my husband when he needs to check luggage. We have a carry-on for when he doesn’t need as much. But sometimes he needs a suit, dress shirts, extra shoes, jackets, etc. I want something with wheels as sometimes he has to change airlines and retrieve his luggage and travel to the other end of the airport and recheck it (no choice here – work makes the reservations). I’ve heard that the 29″ will be too heavy with the clothes in it. Is that true? Should we go with a suitcase or a garment bag? Should we consider 2 or 4 wheels? What do you recommend? Thanks for the replies!

I’m not familar with the measurements of the cases. I have three:
1 – very small. the size that airlines used to allow you to carry on, before the rules became more flexible.
2 – medium. this is 65 litres. Enough for a two week holiday but too big for a weekend or a week. Mine has two wheels and a long handle so very easy to manouvre. It’s hard plastic and has two locks.
3 – large. this is way too big for anything I’ve ever done – probably 80 litres. It has two wheels but a short handle makes it very difficult to pull on an uneven surface and it tips over when turning corners!
I would go a luggage shop/department, check out all the difference sizes and designs and see what suits your husband best. I always find it easier to go and look at the case, open it up, see how it works etc etc.
