We are travelling with two little kids and have a 9 hr layover in Delhi. Our AA flight lands and 9:30pm and our Jet Airways flight does not take of until 6am the next morning.
What is the best thing to do?
a. Are there any lounges in the International or Domestic airport? Are they good? Are they open 24 hrs? Do they have decent toilet facilities. I have heard about the Clipper lounge and Maurya sheraton lounges. Are they any good? I am an AA Plat and World Master card holder.
b. Does it make sense to get a hotel? We’ll have 10 suit cases and am wondering if it makes sense to get a hotel with all the luggage transfer that needs to be done for a few hours
c. What is the best way to get from the international airport to the domestic airport with 10 suit cases? Will the lounges be able to arrange for a taxi?
d. What are the best dining options at that time of the night (midnight) with 10 suitcases and 2 little kids?

going to a hotel is stupid.
you have option’s for transfer from international to domestic airport. talk to the ground staff for more detail’s.
there is a new multicusine resturant outside the airport. that is the closest option
hi..since u r coming with ur family so pls take the locker facilty for the baggage @ the airport.Once u r through with this tension u can go to Gurgaon (20-25 min drive)whch is a good place -good malls with good eating joints too and also good decent crowd @ that late hr as well…so enjoy ….

Anyways, now that you are in a real fix with 10 suitcases and 2 little kids, please take me free advice. By the time you get all your 10 suitcases it will already be 10.30pm. And if your onward flight is an international one, you will have to start your check in formalities latest by 4 am. You are left with 5 and a half hour. Incase you decide to check in any hotel, by the time you reach your hotel room it will be 12 midnight already. I don’t see any point for staying in a hotel for just 3 to 4 hours and carrying so much lugguge from the airport to the hotel and then back to airport.
Just pray to God that due to fog the flights do not get delayed. Both your incoming and the outgoing one too. God forbid, if that happens to your out going one for more than 3 hours then you can demand from the airlines a stay in hotel.
Anyways, Jet is otherwise very co-operative, and you can request them to keep your bags in safety lockers at the airport itself.
