My suit case measures 28 inches high, 23 inches across and 11 inches deep. – My flight info says I am allowed 62 inches- is my suitcase okay?
If it’s not – is there anything I can do to have the airline accept my suicase?
( I did not measure the wheels or handle.)

Most suitcases are made with flight regulations in mind so you should be okay. If you’re still uneasy just call the airline itself. If it doesn’t fit the regulations you can pay extra and they will take it. When we came home from CA. our bags were over the weight limit and we paid the $50 fine and that was that.
Dont worry about it. The way to find out is to add the dimensions together. If they equal 62, then you are within guidelines. Anything larger will be considered Oversized and you will pay a fee. The rates very between airline and if you are Domestic or International.
Your dimensions equal exactly 62.
Most baggage the wheels and handles are in close proximity to the body of the piece itself. So, dont worry about adding that part into the dimensions. If it was an oversized item and the wheels were fairly large and protruding and added a considerably length to the size, then I would add that in. But if you bought a regular suitcase, there is not reason to sweat so much. We see suitcases every day and we dont stand there with a ruler measuring each one. We eyeball it and if it looks over sized then we’ll get out the tape measure. But in most cases, suitcases are sold to fit with in the guidelines of the FAA. ITs when you start checking boxes and trunks that we pay attention.
The carrier will count the wheels – drat the luck. 28″+23+11=62″. You could be charged for an oversize bag (VERY expensive) if the depth is more than 11 inches because it’s stuffed or if it’s overweight. Check w/your carrier for weight allowance. Have fun!
