I’ve made plans to travel and am in a wheelchair. I’ve thought about how to carry luggage with me if I’m ever by myself and I’ve come up with a flimsy way of attatching a rolling suit case to the back of my chair with bungee cord and ties. My chair is similar to this: http://www.quickie-wheelchairs.com/product/images/id/2411?imageID=2224
It has curved bars underneath at the back where I was applying the bungee cords. My question is are there better ways of attaching a rolling suitcase to the back of a chair, so it can be attached and unattached quickly, and so that the chair can still be folded when the suitcase is unattached (so nothing permanent like a metal bar mounted on the back), and also something sturdy so the suitcase doesn’t hang to low and drag on the ground.
In addition, if you’ve carried luggage and are in a wheelchair, what other methods did you use or advice can you offer?
I’m not worried about the airport. I can handle my bags there. I’ll be backpacking at certain points along the street. Those are the points I will need to consider.
Thanks Willeke. I have also posted this question elswhere already. I just put it here in the hopes of receiving a variety of answers.
